Why I Chose This Path

Welcome to my fertility journey, the journey to becoming a single mum by choice. 

I started this path on 1st April 2025, officially. That's when I called TFP Fertility Clinic in Nottingham, UK, for the first time to book my first appointment and assessment for IUI. 

I had been thinking about the sperm donor option on and off for quite some time. You hear about it occasionally on the news or through a friend of a friend. It had been something I was open to and had considered if needs be. 

Truthfully, I was holding out for Mr. Right and the "traditional" route to Motherhood - but, it wasn't meant to be, and that's ok. I was born to be different, and you know what, I am glad! The endless failed dates, the disappointment over and over again of things not working out and the overall frustration that surrounded relationships and modern dating. 

A little bit of background information about me: I was in a long-term relationship for most of my 20s, but things didn't work out. When the relationship broke down, I started dating again (after a good break), and after 5 years, I'd had enough. I knew it wasn't me, it's just the way things are nowadays. 

My biological clock was running out, so something had to change. I am so happy I made this decision. I have zero regrets!
